SLA’s Science program offers a hands-on, blended learning environment which shows students how the scientific method and mathematical skills can be applied to everyday life. Building on the computational thinking practiced in our Math program, SLA’s science program focuses on the real-world applications of problem solving. This education begins while students are very young, within our Kindergarten program and is put to practice with regular projects throughout the year. The highlight of the Science program is the participation of students in grades 1-8 in the Annual Invention Convention and Regional and Canada-wide Science Fair competitions. The St. Lawrence Academy expects the best from every student and has seen great success, with the acknowledgement of numerous awards regionally and the chance to represent at a Canada-wide level twice in the past 5 years.
